For a graduation present from college, I bought Jessie and I tickets to Iceland so that we could visit, do some trekking. Most importantly, we could see the only place in the entire world where spreading center volcanism exists above sea level (remember, we were geology students!)

In the MettaWiki, it was a great section, with details on about 100 pictures from different trips we took, including details on stuff for others wanting to go to Iceland. Most importantly, it included details on how we almost died trekking from Skógar to Landmannalaugar (hint: Don’t head into the interior of Iceland when it’s still winter).

I just don’t have the will to re-create the whole section, so here’s a short synopsis of one trek.
