I tuned off internet sharing too, and it worked. I spent the last 4 hours looking for the error messages that were in Console like:

com.apple.backupd[3804]: NetAuthConnectToServerSync failed with error: 62
com.apple.backupd[3804]: Backup failed with error: 19

and all I needed to do was turn off Internet sharing. What the?!

I just set up an Airport disk for the first time, and I was getting this same error on a MacPro running 10.6.6. (No trouble with two iMacs on 10.6.7, but I don't want to update the MacPro right now because it's my production machine.)

Tried all the above suggestions, but the only one that worked for me was turning off Internet Sharing. After turning it back on, error still gone. Weird.

I got the same error for the longest time. Renaming the computer didn't work, neither did rebooting. On a whim, I went into the terminal and ran "killall Finder", and now it works just fine.
