The Barack Strategy: Use Social Media for Change

For those who don’t feel the current administration is promoting change, I offer this article from O’Reilly Media. While the Cheney/Bush administration sought to seal up virtually every crack and crevice in the White House, the Obama camp is vocal about “An open government.” Signs are already apparent in venues such as a Flickr stream of images from backstage on Election Night.

Of course, intergovernmental memos are different than back stage images, but this, and other aspects of his governmental style, are promising. After all, Obama’s is the government with a Transition Website, let’s face it, the man knows media. I hope he continues to focus on his connection to us throughout his presidency. Moreover, I hope that this is a sign of the future for America as a switch from the terrifying and destructive secrecy of Dick Cheney.
